It is happening...in about four days I will be across the globe for the first time since 1995 when I landed in the United States with my parents and younger brother. I have been planning to go abroad for 4 years now... FOUR YEARS and it is finally happening!!! Never have I imagined that Thailand would be the first country that I would travel to; it was where I where I had migrated from! Despite that fact, I think that going back much older than I was when I arrived, I will have experiences to remember and stories to tell. This time, I will not be the one listening to the stories that my parents tell, but will be the storyteller instead.
As I am finishing up my last few papers of the semester, I am thinking about all the things I need to pack. Don't overpack says everyone. That is just so hard to do when I have so much I want to bring with me to make myself comfortable. I guess that part of this experience is letting go of all the "high maintenance" things that I put myself through everyday in order to "look good". So it will be that I will try my best to bring as few beauty products as possible. That is my biggest challenge.
